My little garden above is my very first real vegetable growing adventure. In the spring it was cold. And then it rained and was cold and it rained and I didn’t start the plants early enough indoors. When I was making the Champion Horse Kit I was able to get a truck load of horse manure to add to the sandy dirt that we have. The tomatoes, the okra, the beets and the cucumbers, plus the beans are doing okay. And guess what it’s raining again. The pear tree might have one pear on it. It rained so much in the spring that it washed off all the flowers. We had tons of wild black raspberries and they made yummy jelly.

In the beginning there was an idea to create Sunday School Digital Scrapbooking Kits. With the thought in my head I checked out a stack of children’s Bible Stories. ThenI started thinking about Noah’s Ark and how many animals that I would have to draw. I knew then that this was way over my head. How was Jonah and the whale going to look with a child’s head peering out of the whale’s mouth. And what about the great flood or the plagues how was that going to look with a child’s photo. It seemed kind of scary. With that in mind, I focused on the Garden of Eden and more of what paradise might be like.

This took me 3 weeks to do. This is a smaller kit. The more I worked on it the more work it became. Trying to get the colors to match, the concept to work with the elements. Below is the poem that is written inside the apple above. If you would like to use this poem just make sure my name is listed.

The Garden of Life

The garden of life shelters many surprises,
It yields an abundance of colorful shapes and sizes.

Our perspectives once dimmed by the sands of time,
Our journey through life so far to climb.

The sun passed over my bed of flowers,
And brightened my day for many hours.

Come to me in joy, come to me in sorrow,
You’ve given me hope, let me give you tomorrow.
