Sand and Sea, Fire and Moonlight
Aimlessly, without direction, the blaze follows the smoke into the darkening skies.
Some caught fish, a few apples and a liter of Chianti,
Saltwater and surf, in the distance a seagull cries.
A ship discerned on the horizon is squaring the sun gallantly.
Polaroid lenses reflect a sojourn glance of watchful eyes.
Observing a sunny disposition in a dress of soft blue,
And an eager hand that just may not be tempered
To resist temptation as to the likes of you.
This moment is now, as yet, undisturbed.
But turn your head so, and change the view.
The current sways back and forth waltzing across bare skin
Your body is mine to dance this next song.
Around and around, undulating over again
Just two lovers in the moonlight, it can’t be wrong.
Only a propitious heavenly sin.
The eyes of the night, a starry expanse.
The moon an amulet, I’d buy it for you.
A rocket to Mars, a pretend trip to France.
A ride on an elephant or a bicycle for two.
The night is young and awaits romance.
