Star in Progress

My new grandson Shawn Kelly, born March 16, 2011, weighed in at 5 lbs. and 14 oz. This little l9" leprechaun couldn’t wait until St. Patrick’s Day to share his treasure with excited Mom and family.

My latest digital scrapbook is going to feature music with an emphasis on piano. As soon as I have something together I will post a freebie.

Fall Color Tour Scrapbook Kit

Finally finished my Fall Color Tour Digital Scrapbook Kit. There were so many ideas that I didn’t have time to finish them all. Outside all the bare trees are reminding me that my effort will be with me for the rest of my life. This month my Mom and Dad came to visit and all of my Grandchildren came to say hello to their Great Grandparents. Before Christmas gets here, I hope to finish the page with the 11 grandchildren. Trying to get that many children to face the camera might be better accomplished in Photoshop.

Mom, Dad, we love you. The kids.

Autumn Digital Scrapbook Freebie

Autumn Quick Page Digital Scrapbook Freebie

Autumn Quick Kit

This is my latest adventure. I am trying not to FALL down on the job here. Keeping up with designs is a lot of work. I know everybody has a straw doll made in China and anybody can pick up a few leaves, but it takes time to find nice leaves, scan them and clip them out. If it fits on the scanner I scan it. I get better resolution than with a digital camera. The leaves haven’t changed color yet, so trying to make a green leaf yellow and not look like somebody just bent the hues is a challenge. The papers were a different idea for me. I had so much fun making patterns last month that I used some linen paper and colored pencils and just colored over the linen and then scanned the color swatches and tiled them to create some awesome linen doily paper.

I’ve just been asked if I can come up with some Christmas borders and I am hoping that I can finish up this Autumn Kit first. And to do that I need to finish typing here.

Thank you for looking at my art. Please be patient with me and come back when this is finished.

I was excited about the results that I achieved making pattern tiles with Corel Photopaint 7 and thought that I would share them. Remember when extras came with the programs?

American Indian Digital Scrapbook Freebie

American Indian Digital Scrapbook Freebie

Bird Claw

I’ve been hearing about all this social networking stuff and my husband went and bought me a book on Marketing. I had heard about how hard this was and was determined that this book could make life easier. I want some of the action too. I would like to stand up and be counted for, not just for the amount of ads I could get with increased traffic. Although, that increased traffic could be kind of fun. So, if you’re interested in digital art with a lot more to give try us out. _ :) just checking to see if anyone was paying attention.

bird claw with nut

The bird claw above (included in the freebie) has been used as an overlay. I placed a photo of cactus from the desert inside and added depth with a bevel and emboss. As you can see in the above picture this really brings out the feel of the tribal lands.

This is my second Native American Scrapbook Kit. All of this art has been recreated from Illustrator and saved as a PNG or JPG. Each piece is manipulated bending and shaping the outlines and filling in with appropriate colors. This is very time consuming, but it renders a better final piece that I can add texture, depth, or use as overlays in Photoshop. There are many reasons I make everything in Illustrator but mostly I anticipate in the future that this art will be highly sought after because it can be resized and recolored so much easier than Photoshop files.

Download the FREE SAMPLE for a limited time only.

In this American Indian Digital Scrapbook kit I will be offering art from many different tribes. So far I have Menominee, Zuni and Dakota. I will list the tribes that I want to include but I may run out of steam and not get to all of them: Ojibway, Menominee, Dakota, Zuni, Appalachia, Cherokee, Pottawatami, Comanche, Blackfoot, Seminole, Creek, Iroquois, Mohawk, Mohegan, Navajo and more.

Got Polkas and Stripes?

FREE DOWNLOAD

The above patterns are 21 samples of the 33 that are included with the pattern tiles. They are all saved as PNG files in RGB at 300 ppi with instructions on how to use. These polkas and stripes are placed above over a black background but can be placed over any color. The bottom row has been placed over different colors to show the mulitplicity of these simple elements. The polkas that are not shown are monotones using darker and lighter colors of the circle. The stripes are a no brainer to make but have been created using a color pattern that prints well and is convenient for making plaids by rotating 90 degrees.

Thanks!

Fourth of July Digital Scrapbook

Independence Day USA

Happy Birthday

Born in the USA

Made in the USA, this digital scrapbook kit was inspired for many reasons. My husband and I met in July and were married in July. My grandson is born on July 4th and my daughter’s anniversary is also in July. July sets the scene for lots of fun activities. The kids are out of school. Vacation is something to look forward to. The sun is shining and everything is growing and all around Mother Nature is blessing us with her gifts.

Independence Day July 4, 1776, the 13 American colonies declared their independence from Great Britain.

To visit the website for the complete kit, which includes an alphabet, fireworks, firecrackers, stars and stripes, more balloons, photo frames and more click on the photo above.
